Time spent in reading current publications intro- duces them to valuable sources ot information. In their senior year, students may select either a college-preparatory or a general English course. The latter Otters a turthering of English knowledge to those who do not intend to go on to school. In- cluded in the college-preparatory course is the study ot literary works of well-known English authors. A student may prepare for a career in many and varied fields. Courses in auto mechanics, mechanical drawing, printing, cabinet making and iron work provide valuable experiences and oppor- tunities for students to develop special aptitudes and interests. SCIENCE In this atomic age, the need for understanding the various fields of science is of utmost importance to students. Through the science department this need is fulfilled. In the sophomore year students are in- troduced to science through biology, a required subject. This course gives students a better under- standing of plants, animals, and man and introduces them to the interesting world of science. This in- terest often leads to further study in chemistry, con- cerned with the chemical changes of matter, and physics, the study of the physical changes of matter.
