Fifty Years of Progress O4 to 54 Fifty years For us that half century has been filled with growth accomplishment depression and war The growth of our natuon un area population business science and education was the main feature of that era This growth has been the determining factor in our many fabulous accomplishments These accomplishments could not be told un a book tenfold the size of thus volume There have been continual achievements un every known field of en deavor Today our country us one of the supreme powers of the world we are leaders un the field of science our people are better fed clothed and educated than any other people on this earth And these are only a few of the innumerable developments which characterize our country However this era was not all beautiful and pleasant An untermunglung of depression days and wars have blackened certain pages of our history books World War I was the most mechanized war un the history of the world It was remembered as the worst of all wars After ut was all over this natuon reached a high point un financial status but wuthun a decade the depression was shroudung our wealthy natuon Our people suffered lust as people all over the world suffered We remained un this depression for almost ten years Following un the footsteps of our slow recovery was World War ll Its prede hard earned achievements were used un war too Our brothers died un that war lust as our fathers had died un World War I And all through these years good and bad our natuon has continued to grow and develop But our natuon us made up of forty eight states and thousands of cuties towns and villages with l5G mulluon people unhabutung them Each minute growth has been a piece un the great puzzle of development ln T904 Appleton built a new hugh school the cutys first Appleton Hugh From those early days at Morgan to our present days here at Appleton Senior Hugh the teachers and students have made those many achievements which affect our student body today These same people and others will contunue to do so un the future but we the class of T954 are the puoneers of the next half century Our actions will affect our school communutv state and natuon Can we attain as much as the generations before us? us the unevutable question which faces us What wull we from 1954 to 2004 accomplish?
