Greg Menn Foundation Award The Greg Menn Foundation Award was established in 1970 by Mr. and Mrs. John Menn, in honor of their son Gregory, a former student at Appleton East. The award is to be given annually to a student who has excelled in one of the fine arts'music, drama, art, photography, debate or forensics. Because this is the year Greg would have graduated, there were four recipients of the award. They were Sherrie VanWyk, Jim Tideman, Tod Galloway and Ruth Bretheim.

PATRIOT LEADERS Patriot Leadership Award The highest honor at East, the Patriot Leadership Award, is presented annually to one senior who shows outstanding qualities of scholarship, leadership, charac- ter and service. This year's recipient of the coveted award was Ruth Bretheim. Ruth served as Editor-In-Chief of the Lantern, presi- dent of the Band and treasurer of Modern Music Mas- ters. She was also a member of State Honors Band, and a member of National Honor Society in her junior and senior years. Besides the Patriot Leadership Award, Ruth also received the V.F.W.
