A pensive man oLJedi Hi icauon The 1966 Rhododendron Staff proudly dedicates this edition to Dr. William Thomas Nichols— a professor whose boundless energy and enthusiasm for Appalachian and its students is unmistakable. His vi- vacious spirit is quite contagious in the classroom where he shows a sincere interest in each student. Dr. Nichols demonstrates his school spirit by participating in the Appalachian Marching Band, Concert Band, and Woodwind Ensemble and by sponsoring the International Relations Club. In contributing to the recording for history the part the students have played in the life of the college, this publication has always had a very essential place in the student life of the campus.
