U fC£ COUMY CHANGEC Mr. C.P. Dorton Mr. W.D. Richmond, who has been with the Wise County School System since 1927, retired as Super¬ intendent in June, 1971. Mr. Harley Stallard, Director of Instruction, then became Superintendent. Mr. Stallard has held several important positions in the Wise County Public School System. He has proved to be just as capable in his duties as superintendent. Mr. C.P. Dorton, former Prin¬ cipal of Appalachia High School, was appointed as an assistant to Mr. Stallard. ADWNISTRAltON ADMINISTRATION The 1971-72 school year of Ap¬ palachia High School opened with Mr. Dorton and Mr. Rose serving as Principals. After evaluation, Mr. Dorton left to serve as Assis¬ tant Superintendent of Wise County Public Schools. Mr. Rose then took the position as Principal with Coach Jim Riggs as Assistant Prin¬ cipal.
