x A,A4A-A,AJyJQA,7i4AvJi,fx,Jy JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY In the year 1957 the present Junior class of Apollo entered this great factory of knowledge. When we enter- ed we were in the uroughn, as Sophcmores we were rough- ly nblockedn, and as Juniors we are getting some of the finishing touches. Although it is the Juniors' opinion that they are pretty high-class material, the teachers' views are exactly' the opposite. HThe present Junior ' class has no life, no action, no glamour, no nothing,n they exclaim. Of course they never stop to realize that the captain of the basketball team is a Junior, that some of the best football players are Juniors, that some of the best acrobats are Juniors, and that some of the pr- ettiest girls in the whole high school are Juniors. A lot of credit will be chalked up to the Juniors, if Mr. Armstrong stops handing out so many pages to write, if Mr. Buzard and Hr. Gumbert keep turning out championship' basketball and football teams, if Fritz Grimm stops stretching in history class, if Ed Kinnard will start coming to school in the P. M.'s, and if the Juniors will quit passing notes around the classrooms. The teachers wish the Juniors would pay their dues before the Junior-Senior Prom. Maybe the Juniors are merely being practical. They want to know why they should get rid of their hard-earned money just to put on a dance for the Seniors. By the time this reaches you, the prom will probab- ly be past history, but meantime everyone is looking for dancing mates in anticipation of the biggest social event of the year. It promises to be the best ever held Page 8
