Best Season In 1967 the Panthers ended the sea- son with a 6-2 record. This was the best record that an Aplington team has ever had. The only losses came to a fine Wellsburg team and to Dumont in a close, controversial game. Included in this record was an 8-2 Big Marsh Conference finishg good for second place. Also the boys captured the first sectional crown in 12 years as well as the first district champior in 39 years. Their tournament loss came in sub-state t ney play as they were defeated by Wapsie Valleyg one away from state tournament competition. The boys' great determination along with tremendous support developed on of the finest basketball seasons in th Aplington High School history.
