The rifle team, organized by Mr. Hayes, is one of the newest clubs at Antonian. lt provides an opportunity for Antonian students to learn fire arm safety and become proficient in the use of firearms. The members have started construction on a rifle range beneath the auditorium stage. The club was organized for the pur- pose of helping students be- come better acquainted with chemistry outside of class. The Chemistry club per- formed many interesting experiments, including the brewing of beer, and the production of rocket fuel and laughing gas.

The debate team of Steven Scott and Glen Madere had a season Tournament record of T2 wins and 6 losses. One of The organizations that has been around for all Three years of Antonian's history is The Antonian Speech and De- bate Club, which has made quite a name for itself among The debate circles. The club, sponsored by Brother Thomas, par- ticipated in many oratorical contests and student congresses. A student congress is a speech meet set up along The lines of a unicameral legislature. The honor society is one of the young organizations at Antonian this year. The club's first moderator, Broth- er Andrew, otfered invalu- able assistance in getting the club on its feet. During the year the society spon- sored money-making proj- ects, and observed activities sponsored by other honor clubs around the city. In the future the club plans to set up a scholarship fund in the name of Greg Blount. Honor Society The chess club, supervised by Brother Joseph, was formed to promote interest in chess at school, to help beginners, and to set up tournaments with other schools.
