The flashing Holy Cross striders took a runaway victory in the first annual Antonian track and field meet April 8, 1967. The Holy Cross Knights accumulated an amazing 195 points, more than a 3-1 edge over second place La Salle, which tab- ulated 55 points. Alamo Heights JV, Fredericks- burg St. Mary's, and St. Peter Claver deadlocked for third place with 49 points each. Antonian man- aged a fifth place finish with 33 points. The Apaches finished ahead of St. Johns Seminary, St. Anthony's, St. Edwards, St. Louis of Castroville, and Central Catholic. The highlight of the meet came when 5 foot 9 inch Tim Hosek of St. John's Seminary high iumped 6 feet 3 inches to equal the city's best performance of the year in that event. John Finch placed third in the 120 yard high hur- dles, while both the mile relay and sprint relay teams managed sixth and seventh places respec- tively. Steve Scecina turned in an outstanding per- formance by running a leg on the sprint relay team, and placing second in the high iump.
