Apache Nine Enioys Finest Season The Antonian Apache Baseball te-am got off to a shaky start this season by dropping their first four contests. lnexperience, lack of steady pitching and hitting proved to be our biggest obstacles towards establishing a winning way. However, our fight- ing spirit came through and the Redmen ripped off sixteen victories in the last twenty encounters, including a nine game winning streak, to achieve one of the best won-lost records in the city. Among some of the triumphs the Apache nine can boast of are double victories over New Braun- fels and St. Gerarols. The New Braunfels Unicorns previously took twin wins against Douglas Mac- Arthur and San Marcos, two perennial state pow- ers. The Royals tied for first place honors in the T.C.l.L. district 4 AAA race. With a fine showing of sixteen wins and eight losses, the Apache baseball team clearly exemplifies the fighting spirit of BIG RED.
