A As our city government guides the course of our community, so does the faculty and administra- tion of Antioch High School guide the formative years of our life. Class instructors managed to teach us something even though we went to class without our as- signments and sat, sweating, while the teacher was putting the pressure on one of our class- mates. Memories crowd our minds. That empty feeling - who would be next, you? . . .carrying loads of books home over vaca- tion to catch up, and then return- ing to classes to find that we were no further along . . . that mad last minute rush before the term expired to get in the assign- ments that were due two weeks before the term was over. All this was an unending struggle to learn as much as we could from our sixty learned teachers. Our yearbook would be empty without a section for those who guided and advised us. We are, therefore, thankful for the many hours our administra- tors and instructors spent to make us stronger, more capable in- dividuals.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE It seems impossible that three years could go by so quickly. Perhaps it is because those things we enjoy doing do not have considerations of time. It is with the greatest sincerity that I assure you these have been wonderfully enioyable years for me. When I speak of enjoyment I speak of the ioy of participating in and witnessing progress and achievement, It thrills me to observe the accomplishments you students have made with the guidance and friendship of our splendid faculty and staff. Let me remind you that you have earned one of life's richest rewards respect. Our school is now respected as one of the best in California. Your community has new faith in you. You have done much to make the term teenager an honored label rather than one of delinquency, violence, and immorality. We have achieved many goals. We have generated much momentum to attack and accomplish additional goals. The tough part comes now to maintain the momentum, to keep the drive, to retain the respect. If you have the confidence in yourselves that I have in you, you will attain even greater stature.
