rri f i»9 ii ' h 0m «■■« ■ 1 ■■ tvi CAPT GREGORY L. HANSEN Captain Gregory L. Hansen calls San Antonio, Texas home. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy, playing on the Lacrosse and Football teams. After graduating in 1969, he was assigned to USS JOSEPH P. KENNEDY, JR. (DD-850) as Gunnery Assistant and later as First Lieutenant. In June 1971, he reported to the U.S. Military Advisory Command Vietnam for duty as an advisor to the Vietnamese Navy until June 1972. Upon completion of the Department Head Course at the Naval Destroyer School in Newport R.I., Cap- tain Hansen served as Weapons Officer in USS FAN- NING (FF-1076) and Chief Engineer in USS BRISTOL COUNTY (LST-1198). In June 1986, Captain Hansen was assigned to the Bureau of Naval Personnel for duty as a Junior Officer detailer and as Sea Coordina- tor where he served until November 1988. Subse- quently, Captain Hansen attended the Naval Post- graduate School in Monterey, California graduating with a Master of Science Degree in Financial Manage- ment. Captain Hansen served as the Commissioning Exec- utive Officer in USS JOHN A. MOORE (FFG-19) from September 1980 to June 1983. The next eighteen months were spent as a Budget Analyst in the Office of Budget and Reports Fiscal Management Division (NCB OP-92), followed by two and a half years as As- sistant and Head, Appropriations Committees Liaison Office, in the same organization. After leaving OP-92, Captain Hansen commanded USS MCCLUSKY (FFG-41) from February 1988 to April 1990. During his tour, the Mighty Mac made two successful tours to the Arabian Gulf, earning the Battle ' E ' . He was most recently assigned to the Deputy Chief of Naval Oper- ations (Manpower, Personnel, and Training) as his Special Assistant for Legislative and Oversight Mat- ters. Captain Hansen served as Commanding Officer of USS ANTIETAM (CG-54) from May 1992 to Febru- ary 1994. Captain Hansen ' s personal awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit with gold star, the Bronze Star with Combat ' V, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon and various unit, campaign and service rib- bons. CAPT JOE LEE FRANK III Captain Frank commenced his duties following extensive experience at sea, most recently as Execu- tive Officer, USS MISSOURI (BB-63), in which he participated in the first month of combat opera- tions in strike forces during Operation Desert Storm. Previously, Captain Frank commanded the destroyer USS INGERSOLL (DD 990); commis- sioned and served as Operations Officer in USS SCOTT (DDG 995); served as Operations Officer and Navigator in USS SACRAMENTO (AOE 1); commissioned and served as Weapons Officer in USS COOK (FF 1083); commissioned and served as Liaison Officer in FGS ROMMEL (F-187); served as Assistant Combat Information Center Officer and Electrical Officer in USS MAHAN (DLG 11). Ashore Captain Frank served as Director of Op- erations, AEGIS Shipbuilding Direct Reporting Program Manager and earlier on the staff of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Surface War- fare) as branch head for Combat Systems Engineer- ing, Integration and Architecture. He attended the National Defense University ' s Industrial College of the Armed Forces, graduating in 1993; The United States Naval Postgraduate School, graduating in 1975 with a Master of Science degree in Physics; and the United States Naval Academy, graduating in 1968. As a result of his graduate research he was selected for induction into Sigma Xi. Captain Frank is also a member of the United States Naval Insti- tute, the Surface Navy Association, the American Astronomical Society and the International Plane- tarium Society. Captain Frank has been awarded five Meritori- ous Service Medals, the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal among other decorations. PG3
