SC sponsors carnival This year proved to be a busy one for the Student Council. Among other things, they sponsored the Crop Hunger Walk, the senior-faculty basketball game and 50's dance following it, and the student exchanges with Maumee, Napoleon, Perrysburg, and other schools. They were also responsible for the mid-Winter and Homecoming dances. Other SC projects included the planting of shrubbery in the student court- yard, and a special tree in memory of Tom Fox and Bob Wilhelm, two AW sopho- mores who died tragically in 1974. Another aim of student council has been the revamping of the student lunch pro- gram. Through this year's council's efforts, the possibility of lunchroom vending machines is being seriously considered by the powers-that-be, and a grateful student body thanks the council for its efforts in this area. Honor Socielg sells for funds This year the National Honor Society tried several new activities. Pens and pencils were made available in both offices to students for a nominal charge, and carnations were sold for Valentine's Day and Easter. Students ordered ahead for flowers to be delivered to a sweetheart or special friend. The High School Faculty Selection Committee voted to raise scholastic requirements for candidates to 3.3. Previously it had been 3.0. Nineteen new members were tapped and inducted in April. The first annual spring luncheon was held at Miller's Restaurant for new inductees and graduating seniors. Ms. Elaine Hughes, newscaster for WSPD-TV, was the guest speaker. Two scholarships were announced by Superintendent George Don- nelly at the luncheon.
