This year, Mr. Dean decided that a reshman choir would give more kids an pportunity to sing and participate in compe- ition, and it would also mean that they ould be more experienced when they did nter Concert Choir. They fared very well their first year. They ang at the Waterville Methodist Church ervice, and at Thanksgiving and Christmas concerts, along with the Concert Choir, 8th grade choirs, FT and elementary school groups. They were a big help with choir Tag Day. Thirty freshmen went to solo and ensemble competition and received twenty- three Superior ratings and six Excellent rat- ings, The large group also received a Superior at competition. Five freshmen sang with the Concert Choir, and joined them in their trip to Washington, DC. The eighth graders came out for choir in forced to divide them into two choirs to meet two different class periods. Their many activi- ties included the 'Thanksgiving and Christmas concerts and helping during Tag Day. At large group Competition thirty participating eighth graders received twenty-seven Superi- ors and three Excellents. With a successful year behind them, they look forward to next year in Freshman Choir. Freshman Choir lOl
