AW Concert Choir number one at Festival of Nalion A long and busy year for the Concert Choir paid off in the best way possible, as the group took first place and a silver medal at the Festival of Nations, a national high school choir competition held this year in Washington, D.C. The kids had put in many hours of extra practice along with their usual yearly concerts. They sang at the annual Christmas program along with the elemen- tary and middle school groups. They also entertained Christmas shoppers at Southwyck 98 Choir Mall, and were a part of a Christmas televi- sion program, along with the Scott High School choir. They participated in a fall con- cert of area choirs at Archbold, and sang at the Waterville Methodist Church Easter serv- ice. Other concerts were held at the Edison Plaza, Ramada Inn, and Oak Openings Lodge. Fund raising activities included a Chili Supper, Tag Day, Pizza Day, and the sale of Christmas candy. Between all these, the ch found time to send quite a few people to s and ensemble competition, where they w very successful. They also received a Super' rating at district and state large-group com tition, an achievement few choirs can mat At a pre-Washington concert for their p ents,-Iill Gerke was named outstanding sen' choir member, and Leslie Bennett w awarded the 3100 choir scholarship.
