Homecoming November 12, 1976 Homecoming night was a successful one for the Rams when they shut-out Williams 13-0 and captured the B-West title. Halftime ceremonies included the crowning of the queen. Suzanne Madsen by last years reigning queen, Susan Blohm. The queen was es- corted by Carlos Vasquez, other queen candidates were Liz Langford es- corted by Carlos Linzoain and Paula Neinast escorted by Jimmy Mur- dock. The attendants representing the Junior class were Irene Perez-Arce es- corted by Jesus Quintana. Carrie Crenshaw and Bobby Linzoain were attendants for the Sophomore class, followed by Freshmen Debanie Gomez and Jeff Bush. Senior Johnny Quiroz was crowned Homecoming king at the dance follow- ing the game. Other nominees for Homecoming king were Carlos Linzoain and Jimmy Murdock. 1. 1976 Homecoming Queen. 1. Desert Sands Sophomores Win Each year the Desert Sands Contest is held to help promote yearbook sales. The class who buys the most yearbooks wins the contest. A girl and boy are chosen from each class as representatives and the couple from the class who buys the most yearbooks become Desert Sands King and Queen. This year the Sophomores won the contest by buying 35 yearbooks. The Juniors were second with 21 yearbooks; the Freshmen with 20 came in third, and the Seniors came in last with 19. 1. Juniors Debbie Robinson and Tim Wheeler came in second. 2. Sylvia Perez-Arce and Dave Perez, representing the Freshmen class, came in third. 3. In fourth place are the Senior representatives. They are Johnny Quiroz and Dixie Ordonez. 4. This years Desert Sands King and Queen—Julie Quiroz and Bemie Figueroa. Desert Sands 7

Juniors Win Games Each year during Homecoming week Student Counc.l sponsors the homecoming games. The junior class won this year’s games, with the sophomores coming in second. The seniors came in third and the freshmen finished last. Each class had its own part in the Homecoming. During the week the seniors worked on the homecoming float and the juniors worked to get the A lighted. The sophomores decorated the cafeteria for the homecoming dance, and the freshmen supplied the refreshments for the dance. 1. Junior Karen Leavitt was in the egg race for her class. 2.
