I'm almost there! Coach Workman Tennis The A.U.H.S. tennis team this year finished with a grand score of 10-0. The seniors were announced as the winners with 11,323 pounds of goods. The clothing, toys, books, food, etc. is donated to needy families for Christmas. This is a student council project. Decorations for this years ball were done in red and white. The center of attention was a huge heart constructed by the F.F.A. to disclose the Sweetheart candidates. The crowning of Nancy Woodhouse (opposite page) as F.F.A. Sweetheart was one of the high points of the evening. The other candidates which were chosen by the chapter were Gwen Millner (top left) and Jeannie Levitt (bottom right). Atlantis the Underwater City The prom was a big hit this year, since it was held under- water. The Junior class and their helpers created an under- water city. The decorations were mostly done in blue and green. Amelia (the six-armed octopus), live fish, seaweed, an anchor and a ship, helped to create the deep sea atmosphere. The crowning of Susan Rockwell and Doug Stewart as Prom King and Queen was the highlight of this deep sea evening. The other prom king and queen candidates were: (from left to right) Chuck Allen, Margaret Haws, Susie Kline, and John Hensley. The Cinderella Ball is an annual affair put on by the Future Homemakers of America. The theme for this years ball was Santas Workshop. To be a candidate for Cinderella you have to be a Junior or Senior girl, have a 3. 0 grade average or better, and be active in F.H.A. To be a candidate for Prince Charming you have to be a Senior boy, and have a 3. 0 grade average or better. It was a good choice as Susie was a varsity cheerleader for two years, and Earl is president of A Club. Outstanding Pep Club Member Debby is a one girl cheering sec- tion, a good reason to be chosen for out- standing pep club member of this year. Debby also found time this year to be a pom-pon girl. Susie Kline 88 Debby Burks Best Western Dressed Western Days were a great success this year. After an afternoon of fun and games, the best dressed western boy and girl were announced. As you can see in this picture, Susan Rockwell and Charlie Beecroft earned the right to their titles. Susie 0 Charlie Betty Crocker Susie Kline (alias Susie Homemaker) was selected as Betty Crocker this year. All senior girls are given a test covering various aspects in home- making. The girl with the highest test score in each respective school is chosen as Betty Crocker for her school. The test scores are then sent to the competition on the state level. Congratulations Susie! Barbara Wheeler Earl Beecroft Staters Journalism Scholarship This year Isela Hernandz won the Journalism Scholarship offered by AWC. 90 PUSH Mr. Trash Mid'Miss {fit April 12-16 F.H.A. sponsored General Clean Up Week, One day F.H.A. girls sold ice cream cone cupcakes for 15 cents. To spice up the week Miss Liter and Mr. Trash campaigns were held. Votes were cast by putting money in the jars of the candidate of your choice. Ricky Moser and Linda McElhaney Blanca Hernandez and Louis Martin This years Desert Sands cam- paign was very successful. With a total of 145 books being ordered throughout the cam- paign.
