Sponsor's Message This has been a very hectic year for the staff of the DESERT SANDS. Everyone has been working a little harder at too1' many other activi- ties to devote full time to Yearbook production. We made an Editor change early in the fall, and we really never recovered from that change. We did not get football pictures as I was scouting other teams during our home games. We had no official photographer, just a young man trying to do the job for the Journalism Department. It wasn't until after the second semester began, that we could get a class in photography. This helped the second half, but now we have negatives and no one for the darkroom. My duties in class and library did not always give time for developing and printing . Your 1970 Yearbook is going to be short many pages due to these above mentioned faults, but there are others that have caused us great loss of time on the production line also. We have not had the full cooperation of the student body in all matters. We have developed many pictures and have seen or heard of them floating around the campus. In private collections and not in
