Here are a few fine ex- amples of just how the scene has changed. As a whole the campus is a worth while scene to view. Now that the library has been remodeled, it supplies a very nice place to browse, do research in, or do homework. Not only has our campus changed but also changed is the attitude of the student body in promoting school spirit. Antelope provides a wholesome atmosphere affording many opportunities for learning. The many extracurricular activities enable the students to grow in other ways. tobh 4 Cfwfewfc Dedication................................5 Memoriam..................................7 Faculty and Administration................8 Classes..................................20 Honors...................................56 Royalty..................................64 Activities...............................82 Organizations............................96 Sports..................................114 Advertisements..........................134 Sands of Time is the theme of this 1966 Desert Sands yearbook. Time, like the sand in an hourglass, slowly but inexorably passes on. We hope that we have caught for you at least one of those passing moments that you enjoyed being a part of this past year. As you turn the pages of this book, you will find that the hourglass has slowly filled with sand, the evidence that time has passed, leaving happy memories of the school year 1965-66. 4 . . . We, the staff of the Desert Sands, dedicate to you, Mrs. Mabel Witten, our 1966 yearbook on your Tenth Anniversary of devoted service to our school. We want to show our appreciation for your sincere and unselfish interest in our students and the effort and willingness you have put forth in their activities. We know the students will always remember the time you have taken to give us a cheerful greeting and a part of your boundless energy, regardless of the many obligations confronting you. 5 tl Jb des ub sands Editor in Chief Vickie Roach Business Manager Susan Vaughan Advertising Manager Brenda Gamble Faculty and Administration Vickie Roach Classes Editor Cathy Runge Honor Co-Editors Susan Vaughan Vickie Roach Royalty Editor Rose Madron Activities Editor Frances Sumner Organization Co-Editors Susan Vaughan Brenda Gamble Sports Co-Editors Carvin Short Larry Hastin Advertisements Brenda Gamble Head Photographer Burt Galindo Dark Room Staff Carvin Short John Verschoor Larry Hastin Sponsor 6 Mr. John Hyde Called from among us to serve up above One endeared with a memory of love.
