A new practice of loading the buses in the front of the school has given A. U. H. S. stu- dents a chance to appreciate the landscaping along the main building which contains office, bookstore, library, teachers lounge, sickroom, and restrooms. Possibly the most popular place on the campus is the cafeteria where students meet not only for lunch but before school and to hold parties, plays, ban- quets, and many other community functions.

The main buildings consist of three separate wings and the cafeteria surrounding the patio and con- nected by concrete sidewalks. Foreword Today the hands of youth are reaching upward grasping for new truths and skills. First they must have a good knowledge of the well known facts which they learn from administration and teachers. To serve this pres- ent age they must be well adjusted spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically, as witnessed by the many activities of the school. Next we see the hands of youth holding the staff with our flag which represents our country and the ideals of democracy and freedom. In striving for the new, youth must never forget the ideals of our founding fathers for individualism and competition as well as cooperation, that have made our country great. Last the hands of youth are outstretched to receive help from their friends, in the case of this annual, the advertisers. Without this aid, the hands of youth are powerless. Linda Scheuneman.
