Dellinger Devdication We, the 1966 Senior Class of Anson High School, are proud that we can dedicate the 1966 Aquila to Mr, Harold G, Dellinger. His great devotion to duty and contribution to society in developing the generation who will be the citizens of tomorrow is his prime, unselfish effort. With all sincerity and love we can extend this dedication as a means of our appreciation. Behind the desk . . . Principal's Hlessage It is my privilege, through the use of the Aquila, to congratulate the senior class for your successful completion of the requirements for graduation from Anson High School. May I very respectively challenge each of you to continue to strive for the best that is within your ability. To settle for less than your capabilities could very well deny you of the many finer things in life. My advice to you is to work hard and take advantage of the opportunities of life. My very best wishes are extended to each of you. Sincerely, LL lltson Lee G, Allison Foreword The Aquila opens, Our trail stretches ahead. We look backward and see the winding road that has brought us here. We look forward toward a limitless future waiting just around the bend. Gratefully we remember those who first trod Anson High's path. They established her traditions and blazed the trail for us. Humbly we pick our packs and walk purposely onward. There is much that still must be done, and the trail is beckoning. Iu Hemariam BAXTER ‘‘Al’? HEDRICK We, the Senior Class out of love and re- spect for these two former classmates find that Section LIV from Tennyson’s ‘‘In Memoriam’? can best express our thoughts for them. LIV Oh, yet we trust that somehow good Will be the final goal of ill, To pangs of nature, sins of will, Defects of doubt, and taints of blood; That nothing walks with aimless feet; That not one life shall be destroyed, Or cast as rubbish to the void, When God hath made the pile complete; That not a worm is cloven in vain; That not a moth with vain desire Is shriveled in a fruitless fire, Or but subserves another’s gain. Behold, we know not anything; I can but trust that good shall fall At last--far off--At last, to all, And every winter change to spring.
