The eight pupils were Frances Allison, Wayne Beavers, LaDonrA Cool, Tom Raymond, Roger Hunt, Larry Kastens, Lana Olson, and Cheryl Osterhoudt. In the first grade, the class lost Lana Olson, but gained Jere Wood. Mrs. Ruth Mosley took over Mrs. Huntzinger's class as they entered the second grade. During the year, Daryl Fisher was welcomed to the class. The third grade class greeted four new students: Max Gonge, Linda Satchell, Danny Jacquot, and Donna Blakeman. Wayne Beavers and Daryl Fisher left the class under Mrs. Stutzman. Wayne Beavers, Frances Beavers, and Terry Gracey joined the fourth grade class with Mrs. Bocher as their teacher. Max Gonge left the class. Under Mrs. Alvina Lauer in the fifth grade there were eight students with the loss ol Wayne Beavers, Frances Beavers, Danny Jacquot, and Terry Gracey. The sixth grade was increased by Nancy McCormick and Steve Huhman. Now ready to enter Junior High, the seventh grade under Miss Reiter was increased by six eager young students: Elaine Bader, David Lindner, Marie McAlevy, Dick May, Jeanne Switzer, and Cary Sommer. Mrs. Smets patiently guided twenty-nine beaming students through the eighth grade. Added to the class were Steve Bartak, Patty Clarke, JoAnn Christen, Bob Dainton, Daryl Fisher, Philip Lamb, Bill McGinn, Danny Russell, Byron Rush, Jim Spanel, Linda Simons, Darrel Schmidt, and Dale Spanel. As green Freshman, the mighty Seniors of '66 initiated us into High School. The class gained Barbara Crouch, Rose Daily, Arlene Hall, Sharon Kieborz, Kay Troxel, Vicki McCaslin, and Maurine Russell. Bill McGinn and Linda Satchell left the class followed by Jere Wood at mid-term. The Sophomore class lost LaDonna Cool, Rose Daily, and Vicki McCaslin but gained Randall Smith and Mick Knott. As Juniors, the class lost Daryl Fisher, Arlene Hall, Danny Russell, Randall Smith, and Mick Knott. It was increased by Maria Wrede, Vicki McCaslin, and Jere Wood. The Juniors presented, Lock, Stock, and Lipstick, a three-act comedy. Shower of Stars became the main thought of each Junior's mind as they prepared for the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom held May 4, 1968. JTbe mighty Seniors started planning for their long-waited-for sneak to the Ozarks by presenting Hill- billy Weddin' . The Seniors were now twenty-nine strong due to the loss of Jeanne Switzer, Jim Spanel, and Maria Wrede but gaining Randall Smith. After a year of hard work the Seniors journeyed to the Ozarks for a glorious sneak. , A V ■• 3 JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS Preside ............................DEBBIE HARDY Vice pjsident.................CAROLYN CALL Secretary.................RADINE FIORELLI Treanfy.........................PAT BATES Stude t Council-----CYNTHIA McCULLOUGH ROGER SAFRANEK New Reporter.........................NILA RITCHIE Axtell, Debra Bates, Pat Blakeman, Colleen Crawford, Darlene Christen, Bill Cantrell, Keith Call, Carolyn Duryea, Elden Daily, Joe Esch, Mary Eng, Gary Fiorelli, Randy Fiorelli, Radine Fred, Penny Gaffney. Third quarter scor- ing was 19-16 in favor of the Coyotes and both teams meshed the nets for 16 count- ers in the final stanza. Jim Bacus was top scorer for the night as he led the Litchfield cagers with 29 points. High man for the Coy- otes was Byron Rush who popped in 23 on nine fielders and 5 for 7 from the foul line. Merna hit on 33 percent of its field goal tries and 41 per- cent of its free throws. In the Reserve game, An- selmo-Merna came out on top 46-19 with Kenny Newman bagging 16 6allies. And this is exactly what the Anselmo- Merna Coyotes did Tuesday night as they crushed any hopes the Ansley Warriors may have had of an undefeated season. Playing a deliberate slow- down game the Coyotes came up with a low-scoring 30-27 victory over the undefeated Warriors, who had won their first four games. The Coyotes evened their season record to 2 and 2. Ansley jumped into a 17-6 halftime lead but in the second half it was a completely dif- ferent game. The Coyotes not only controlled the ball but scored with more consistency to outpoint the visitors 24-10 to nail down the win. Anselmo-Merna took only 25 shots from the floor and canned 12 while Ansley was hitting on only 10 of 30. The Coyote- Mgged 6 erf 12 from the chanty stripe while the Warriors hit 7 of 15. It was the overall play of Byron Rush, a 6’1 senior playing center, who led the Coyotes. He meshed 14 tallies and snared 15 of A-M’s 29 rebounds. The other starters for the Coyotes were just as efficient in controlling the ball and keeping the Warriors from getting any good shots when they had the ball.
