Soee strike out before they start to run, Others ggic first base, others second, some giin third ind some dive encugh yer everince to make the home stretch. Iigh school life may be likened to 1 baseball gene. Lanj strike out before they reach first base, so it was iz our Freshman yedr. 2 Let's turn beck the celender one yemr.- We see be- fore us assembled a large crowd of spectators on the old besebill dixmcnd at Annville, while the class of '55 stegs to the plete. We lead off with Charley Lewis as president. Je find the going rather rough and be- fore we 1 ici fir t, five of our number stop along the way. Some oi the highliphts cn our trip to the bose include the Junior High school bosketbnll team which was composed lirgely ol Sophomores and one of our number, Cassie Jones won the declamztory contest. Amid ull of our studies we hed Vary good times, but we were ready for vovation WHLH we reached first bcse. As we stcrt in the fell for second bQse'we lose Retha Davis, Cassie Jones, amd Samuel lvans. The rerainder stwrt for second base on August 25, 1952 with Net Cupeless as President, Lucxs Nelson, Vice- President, Dathe Turner, Secretiry, ind Verna Parrett, Treasurer. On the way from first to second die Sophom- Ores have tried to accomplish sore things. We have had a few pirtics and suppers and a few candy sales ind somewhere along the peth we lost three of our members, Cecil Dohnlley, 4rlie Tintcher, and Gertrude Bailey. We are onlv a few yirds from second btse with our hopes high for reiching third base with our full number. Dothn Turner 1 54 -.J
