,, A 5 I 2 Despite two early season losses which virtually eliminated the Little Dutchmen harriers from any chance for the CAC Dual Meet Championship, A-C's underclassmen--dominated team mem- bers continued to improve to such a degree that they easily walked away with the CAC Meet Championship. The jubi- lance over this victory, however, was short lived as the team members, on the whole, suffered dismal performances at the District Three Cross Country Meet where A-C finished sixth, After A Slow Start A CHS,s Underclassmen - Dommated Harriers Have Fine Season CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ROW 1 F Sheffy, Mgr , R Dailey, T. Mr. Marlin G. Fureman Dear Member of the Class of 1969, After careful consideration, I've taken the liberty of writing my own dedication, but in the form of an open letter. While I realize that some readers will be appalled by this breech of unwritten protocol, I have done so for several reasons: Q15 No one knows Marlin G. Fureman better than does this Writer. Q21 By using this method, I shall be able to omit those trite cliches often used in the Writeups for dedications. Q20 Such a letter is the only effective way of thanking you for dedicating the 1969 edition of the Corinoma to yours truly. Along with the above-mentioned ' reasons, l've also wanted to thank each of you for having provided those memorable times that have made teaching and coaching such worth- while endeavors. During the past six years, students like yourself have been responsible for keeping teachers, in- cluding this writer, in teaching. Con- sequently, you have helped alleviate the sadness and frustration that has re- sulted from the hyprocrisy and shame of a rather corrupt world. As you step forth from the friendly confinesof A-CHS into the cold, cruel world, I would hope that I've been able to exert a positive influence in preparation for the trials and tribu lations that you will undoubtedly en counter during your lifetime. By the same token I also hope that each of you retains that high concept of fair ness, humility, and honesty which most of you have displayed both in my English classes and on the athletic field. Though I'm sure I could babble on endlessly, I must terminate this overl nostalgic letter somewhere. Saying farewell to 118 friends, however, is a difficult task, nevertheless, allow me to summarize my sentiments by stating that this dedication will always be a constant reminder and symbol of those 118 friendships. Thank you, once again, for this honor Sincerely , Marlin G Fureman DEDIC TIO s-,. Y- s ,Q , ' 1 f s h e
