WiTh, aT leasT normal equipmenT oT originaliTy and ambiTion, we seT TorTh To make our class unique in The hisTory oT AnnunciaTion. Our Theme, seT down in our moTTo, ,We Build Tor Tomorrow, direcTed us To The World Fair, our GraduaTion. Under The supervision oT our Freshman Teacher, SisTer Mary Bernice, our beloved enThusiasT, we weeded The garden oT our minds wiTh spades and shovels and hoes and rakes of LaTin declensions, Algebraic equaTions, English rhymes and rhyThms and social problems. Our year was successTul because oT The underlying principles of applica- Tion, sinceriTy and good sporTsmanship oT The Crew as a whole. CONCESSION OWNERS IT was in our second year ThaT our sense oT responsibiliTy was TesTed. The nov- elfy OT our FirsT Year kepT up our buoyancy, buT now we had To Turn our implemenTs inTo 'foreign soil, boTh ancienT and modern. Under our exacTing French MisTress, SisTer Mary of Carmel, we Took on a comprenez-vous look and an anTiquaTed air oT The EgypTians, Medes and Persians. We were obliged To sponsor our own Mission Program, our own candy sales, and we even presumed To produce a scene Trom The MerchanT of Venice. We plodded on unTil The Tollowing SepTember, we Tormed a PUBLICITY SQUAD The experience of The TirsT Two years encouraged us To emerge from obscuriTy and To puT inTo execuTion whaT we had hiTherTo been culTivaTing, working harder sTill wiTh geomeTric angles and Ciceronian speeches. We held our own in The Mission acTiviTies3 we produced Three one-acT plays, one of which, The Dean's Chair, was The original work oT our own Frances Kennedy. ln SepTember, I938, we enTered The Fair Grounds To prepare Tor The big FAlR, our GraduaTion. AnoTher year of Trimming and Touching-up, wiTh SisTer Veracunda as our Tinal guide, and we were well on our way. The AnnunciaTa, The burden oT The year, served as a leveler Tor our super-buoyancy. ATTer a sTrenuous year of serious labor. we are now ready To Take our places in The march down The Hall oT achievemenT. WiTh flags aloTT, crowned wiTh our square- cuT graduaTion caps, we appear as The celebriTies of A. l-l. S. I939.
