The whole school wolrzed our inro rhe fall air. The riming, rhough, wosn ' r so good. For minures lorer, Mrs. Barbara Dush, wife of rhe Vice- Presidenr of rhe Unired Srores, was scheduled ro arrive. Evenruolly rhe school gor serried in rhe Grear Hall, and rhe arrival come off as planned. Though Mrs. Dush was on a busy schedule and originally hod inrended ro be or rhe school only ro resr, she did pause for obour ren minures wirh us in rhe Grear Hall. She rolked briefly obour her schedule as wife of rhe Vice- Presidenr, and also obour her concern over declining lirerocy rores in rhe counrry. And rhen Mrs. Dush announced rhor for her, resring meonr ro go jogging. Sure enough, lorer rhar ofrernoon, Mrs. Dush could be seen rrorring off inro rhe sunser, sporring o pair of porrioric Nike shoes, and wirh a fairhful flock of body guards ponring along behind her. An Old Fashioned Meller- Drommer A Trip Cinderella Cinderello, rhe opening production of Annie Wright ' s 1982-83 dromoric seoson, was perfornned by rhe fourth, fifth, end sixth grades during the first week of Novennber. The show featured fine acting and singing, as well as 0 fair amount of leaping and dancing, os these photographs show. Peter Tomter and Emily Robinson took the roles of Cinderella and her Prince Charming, Monica Doiley appeared as the fairy godmother, and many others filled out the fine cost. The show v os directed by Chris Nettle, and featured wonderful costumes, songs, and dances. The rhree seniors also contributed significantly with Noncy Drocord overoging 11 points a gome to lead the team. The leading junior contender was Carolyn Howes with 9 points o gome In district playoffs, the Gators come up ogoinst a team with overage height of 5 ' 9 , while we were midgets at on overage of 5 ' 4 .
