It was 1975 and Upper School had never seen a freshmen class like us. New arrivals included Louise (oh, Chouchou) Laboda, Kathy Works and KC Ambur. Then Kathy Works ran around with her long hair streaming down. That year Gina, Debby and Pam were on the bowling team. Pam was later assigned to mascot status when she lofted 18 and lofted a ball into a pole at Towers. Freshmen PE was a course that helped us become •accomplished young ladies ' by learning that repulsive wriggle called The Hully- Gully . Once we seenly marched up to lunch singing the Alma Mater. Health was another tribulation. The teacher tried to assign us startegic seats to keep verbosity to a minimum. We ended the tri playing daily musical chairs and disc jockey with the language equipment and blowing up pig lungs (don ' t inhale!) Then there was the great Frisko Sneak ! ' Deena, Pam, Debby and Gina barely got back in time for Antiquity when suddenly there was a knock at the door! Uh, hello Miss Mattern. (we ' re dead!) But - NO! She ' s only asking about May Day. Praise Heaven! It was 1976 and Upper School had never seen a sophomore class like us. Cathy Emmett and Donna Wallen joined us then. It was ' 76 that saw Gina ' s beach house become an institution better known as The Beach . It seemed to be everyone ' s goal to get invited to BEACH PARTIES! Tenth grade was also the year ' Chouchou ' changed to ' Michele ' and was the sole source of Vashon news. Our picnic with the juniors at Miss Hemion ' s was great but rainy. Ms. Soucey forced members to have an Honor Society meeting and then everyone sat around watching ' Days of Our Lifes 1 and ' All My Children ' while they chaperones graded final papers. Ski Skinny-dipping at Karen Bellamy ' s birthday party was the highlight of the year for Chou and Pam. We also had the best bowling team ever! Debby Gina take a bow. It was 1977 and the Upper School had never seen a junior class like us. Joy made her zany entrance and Donna Wallen became Donna Cole -Wallen. No other class had ever had a Junior Jamboree on Senior -sip day. Debby photographed the whole ordeal at Point Defiance after driving to lunch at Pizza Hut in two Cadillacs where we held class elections! Our rain dance on May Day FLOPPED! But decorations for the gym were gorgeous. Various members of our class lived part-time at Suzy ' s Pfaff ' s apartment, guarding the refrigerator. And what other class had two of its members crash the senior-skip party!! Come Sail Wway was the theme to our memorable Spring Prom. And don ' t forget - When a ' 79 junior talks EVERYBOY LISTENS!! It was 1978 and Upper School had never seen a senior class like us. Debby and Donna found the spade in ten minutes flat! TRY TO BEAT THAT!! We picked a May Day dress in one class meeting with no fights! So many of our great class was on honor roll. We were way too smart for ' senioritis ' and had no need for Preparation S with our unique talent of laughing without smiling. Our outstanding pride was Kathy and Gretchen who were awarded National Merit Scholarships with Pam and Sue as finalists . Senior Lounge has not one but two TV ' s and we are inclined to have sparkling cider lunches! Such class . It was 1979 and the world had never seen a graduating class like us.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood , And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
