Miss Ruth Jenkins, Heaximistress DEDICATION The Class of 1963 dedicates the Shield to you, Miss Jenkins, with our love, our admiration, and our deepest respect. It is fitting that this yearbook, a record of the memories and meaning-s of days now past, should beg-in with you; in all of these memories, in each of these days, you gave to us the support and direction for which we were searching. Your unending gaiety at parties and hockey games, your invaluable g-uidance both in assembly and in the privacy of your office, and your way of giving strength to us through your faith; these have created a unity and joy within this school which no lesser personality than our R. J. could have achieved. And now, as we go on together to our new lives and new responsibilities, we want you to know how much your wisdom and devotion have meant to us all, and that in the years to come we will ever strive to approach your examples of faith, courage, and love: From Streng-th to Streng-th. 4

The eighty-fourth Psalm has always been a favorite of mine, the more so since I came to the Seminary, for it is from this source that come the words of our motto From Strength to Strength. When you, the members of the Class of 1963, entered this school, you came into a strong and great heritage, as did I when I became head- mistress twenty-one years ago. Now you have honored me with membership in your class, and so as alumnae we go forth together from ' these amiable dwellings ' as the psalmist says. And as we leave this beloved place, I would ask you to pray with me that His strength may continually be given to us and to all who follow us here, that wherever we are we may be strong in His service. 5
