l L SENIOR CLASS HISTORY ACT IV Scene I On September 3, 1947 twenty green Freshmen entered Annawan High School, with'Mr. Richard Gieger as sponsor. The roll was answered by: Donald Bradley, Margaret Browning, Dorothy De Splinter, Phyllis De Splinter, Frank Eilers, Mary Ann Goodwin, Mary Anne Gripp, john Hermic, David Marchand, Barbara Moon, Suzanne Nelson, Barbara Nicely, Robert Nowers, Ronald Oleson, Harold Pritchard, Keith Spears, Marilynn Ufhcil, Mabel lVhittington, and Rodney Zinser. The class officers who piloted us through our Freshman year were: President, Keith Spears, Vice President, Robert Nowers, Secretary. Barbara Moon, Treas- urer, Phyllis De Splinter, Student Council Repre- sentatives, Keith Spears and Harold Pritchard, Re- porter, Margaret Browning. Our biggest event of the F reshman year was when the Sophomores gave us our initiation. Later on in the year we Freshme.-1 entertained the entire school with a roller skating party. During the year Verne Stanfield joined our class. Scene II. XVc enrolled as twenty-three silly Sophomores on September 3, 1948. Mabel NVhitting- ton did not return but we gained three new mem- bers, Donna Clementz from Prophetstown, Shirley Polson from Geneseo, and jennet Van Hyfte from Atkinson. XVith Mrs. Lois Allen as our class spon- sor we chose the following officers: President, Robert Nowers, Vice President, David Marchand, Secretary, Sue Nelson, Treasurer, Frank Eilers, Student Council Representative, Marilynn Ufheil. lnstead of receiving the initiation this year we gave thc Sophomores a formal CPD initiation. Lazelle Ulrick joined our class and Verne Stanfield and Donna Clementz left our class making our enroll- ment twenty-two. Scene Ill. Twenty-two jolly juniors again en-- rolled on August 29, 1949. john Hermie did not return to our class. XVe regained one member during the year, Donna Clementz, and lost one, Lazellc Ulrick. XVith our sponsors, Miss Betty Ohlmaeher and Mrs. Lois Allen, we entertained the Seniors with a jr.-Sr. Prom. NVe presented our class play, The Baby Sitter, under the able direction of Mrs. Lois Allen. Our junior officers to guide us through the year were: President, Robert Nowcrs, Vice President, Don Bradley, Secretary, Barbara Moon, Treasurer, Dorothy Dc Splinter, Student Council Representatives, Keith Spears, Dave Marchand, and Margaret Browning. Scene IV. XVe enrolled as eighteen sophisticat- ed Seniors on August 29, l950 for our final year at Annawan High School. Phyllis Dc Splinter be- came Mrs. Eugene lfilers and did not return. Our class officers for this year were: President, Ronald Oleson, Vice President, Keith Spears, Secretary, Sue Nelson, Treasurer, Harold Pritchard, Student Council Representatives, Dave Marchand, Barbara Moon, and Robert Nowers. ln the first semester Frank liilers left to help on the farm. Under tl'e leadership of Mr. Alfred Ehrig, our sponsor, we chose as our class motto: Today Decides To- morrow , as our class flower: American Beauty Rose, and as our colors: rose and silver. XVC knew that graduation was near when Mr. Ehrig took our orders for announcement and name cards. On April 20 we gave our play, The Brain Storm, under the direction of Mrs. Lois Allen. The annual was published under the efficient direction of Mrs. Ramah Peck, our editor, Dorothy DeSplintcr, as- sistant editor, Barbara Moon, our business mana- gers, Sue Nelson and Marilynn Ufhcil, and all the other helpful Seniors. Scene V. Senior Trip. Chicago. Scene VI.
