ANNAXVAN RECREATION FIELD One of the many improvements made in Unit District 226 during the summer was the installation of the lighted combination softball-football field at Annawan. This field is well drained and lighted and the bleacher seating capacity is 370. This field was used during the summer months for softball games and the high school used it for the first time for their first home football game. The field was formally dedicated September 30 at the half of the Homecoming football game with Superintendent Ralph A. Osborn, Members of the Board of Education, Alumni representatives, Student Council representatives, and other members of the community taking part. Margaret Browning won the Parker Pen and Pencil set as a prize for naming the field Annawan Recreation Field. Future plans for the Athletic Field are a playground, water fountain, scoreboard, and track field.
