THE RADARMEN OPERATE THE SHIP'S SURFACE SEARCH RADAR AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT IN ORDER TO DETECT, TRACK, REPORT, AND EVALUATE SURFACE AND AIR CONTACTS. THEY ALSO ASSIST IN RADAR NAVIGATION. THE SIGNALMEN PERFORM VARIOUS DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH VISUAL SIGNALING, WHICH INCLUDES: FLASHING LIGHT, FLAGHOIST, AND SEMAPHORE. THE QUARTER- MASTER ASSIST IN THE SAME NAVIGATION OF THE SHIP BY PERFORMING NAVIGATIONAL DUTIES.
