LED THIS YEAR by president Garrett Graham, vice president Frank Ross, and secretary Barbara Benson, the Ann Arbor High Student Council quietly and efficiently fulfilled its functions. Early in the year, the Council conducted the Book Ex- change, handling nearly one thousand books. The Council organized and maintained the efiicient monitor system under which our halls were kept orderly and had charge of the information desk. The United States' entering the war occasioned a new situation for our students to meet. The Council has been an essential factor in planning and administering air-raid drills. The big event of the year was the annual Five-A Council Meeting which was held here at Ann Arbor in April. ATHLETIC AND NON-ATHLETIC BOARDS TWO IMPORTANT committees of the Student Council are the Athletic Board and the Non-Athletic Board, both made up of teachers and students acting cooperatively. The Athletic Board handles all problems that arise con- cerning athletics, and the Non-Athletic Board takes care of matters other than athletics. This board passes ap- proval on actions taken in the Council meetings. NON-ATHLETIC BOARD Back row fleit to right!-R. Neelands, Mr. Barclay, Mr. Forsythe, R. Schmerberg. Second row-M. Koebnick, B.
