T E BAND ONE OF THE MOST useful, entertaining, and active groups in the school is the band. In the fall it can be found almost any afternoon at Wines Field or West Park, practicing. The result of this practice is shown in the mili- tary precision with which it parades at football games. The new marching techniques are the ideas of the band's director, Mr. E. Rollin Silfies. Their program, however, is not restricted to marching alone. They play for assemblies, for pep meetings, and for basketball games. They are usually on hand when musical entertainment is desired. They gave a spring concert in addition to participation in state-wide competition for band ratings. They also send soloists and ensembles to regional and state contests. The band's officers are Tom Stout, president, Marjory Hull, vice-president, Jack Fisher, secretary, and Charles Allmand, treasurer. Wll scomvuo Back row fleft to rightj-H Prochnow, R. Ware, W.
