Erlewine, Eleas Vlisides, Harry Koepel SECOND ROW: Frank Tobey, David Wightman, Marian Allmendinger, Johanna Costman, Esther Ringkvist, Garret Van Bell, Clark Sullivan BOTTOM ROW: Betty lou Flickinger, Maxine Grimston, Mary Katherine Harris, Martha Lou McCracken, Robert McMillan, Miss George, Orel Mulreed, Virginia Hoy, Betty Maurer The trip to the Detroit Auto Show was the most outstanding activity of the Travel Club. First organized last year, the club was one of the most popular in school, for its members really did things. At the meetings they had speakers, among them Mr. Benz and Mr. Isaacson, who told of their travels in many lands. The group was under the leadership of Miss Cowley and Miss George. The president for the first semester was Frank Tobey, and for the second, Bob McMillan.

Thejunior election held October 18 1939 was an election to be remembered The candidates nominated gave a very good showing and made it difficult to elect the best Among the candidates for president was Eddie Jamadanian who was unanimously elected Eddie has shown himself an outstanding student in his classes. Being fond of music he was a member of A Capella Choir and splendidly portrayed the part of Florestem in the Bohemian Girl He was a Washington Club member and quarterback on the football team This was the second time Suzanne Springer held the office of vice-president, having been elected to that office in her sophomore year. She took part in the Junior Play and was an active member of the Student Council. Peggy Laubengoyer also served as class secretary for the second term. She was co-editor on the Omega staff, one of the seven sisters in the Junior Play, and active in Student Council work and other school activities. Altogether the iunior class had a successful year. The fine group of leaders set a pace for the rest of the class and also the school as a whole. The Junior Prom was held at school and proved a gala event, well attended by a maiority of the class.
