Journalism Rated 5th Overall in the State The 1985-86 Spy. advised by Mrs Ruthe Brock- et. won national and state recognition Chris Madander was one of the 44 out of 4000 high schoolers who received a National Quin and Scrofl Gold Key award for editorial writing Overafl. the Spy placed 5th in the ‘Page in a Local Paper division of the Iowa High School Press Association (IHSPA). The writers were rated 3rd overall in the HSPA Spring Writing Contest Other award winners in the IHSPA Spring Writing Contest were Suzanne Dodson — 3rd in sports photography.
