 U Anita High will always be a memory to Noriko Yamano” who was this year’s foreign exchange student. She came to AHS as a senior, staying with the Francis Vais family. Noriko came to Anita from the city of Chiba. Japan. She said. The farm is more quiet and fresher, and that it will be hard to get used to the city noise.” Noriko is a member of the FHA» Chorus, which is her favorite class» volleyball» and is manager of the track team. When asked about what she thought of the U.S.. she said. American people make them- selves have fun and get excited a lot. and I like it. Noriko’s future plans are going to an American college to study in English and geography. She also wants to visit many different countries. When asked if she would like to come back to AHS she said. Yes. because I want to meet everybody again, and I want to see what everyone is doing after they graduate. Noriko concluded. I love Anita, and 'Thank You’ for everything to everyone. Camelot — The Land of Enchantment Homecoming 1982 opened with a spark on Sunday with the traditional Powder Puff football game. It was the Freshmen and Seniors, winning 6-0. against the Juniors and Sophomores. After the game the football captain’s fathers gave the pep talk’ . Terry Scarf was the auctioneer Monday at the Jersey Auction. The bidding ranged from 50c to $15.00. Tuesday was support your favorite activity day. Outfits varied from football uniforms to choir robes. Wednesday was the all school scavenger hunt. Different articles from each teacher, such as Dee’s cushion or a lock of Mr. Burke’s hair were hidden throughout the school. Thursday was Punk Rock day. in which the students wore the wildest and zaniest costumes they could get away with. With Friday came game day. All were dressed in their best clothes to show school pride. The coronation was held at IrOO. The king and queen from 10 years ago. Jim Mailander and Mary Vandebur crowned the 1982 king and queen. Kyle Nelsen and Kay Ehrman. Spirits were high as the Spartans went into battle, which they lost 14-2 to Walnut. As a change, the Homecoming dance was neid after the game Friday night. In years past it was held the Saturday night after the game. The week ended with everyone dancing to the music played by a disc jockey from KMGK. Flomecoming
