Keeping School Spirit Alive Each of us provided a piece to finish the many puzzles at AHS. Mitch Cullen and Jack Barber laid down the foundation as they were elected Student Council president and vice president. Cullen and Barber based much of their campaign on the lack of school spirit and how they thought it could be revived. With the leadership of Student Council, many activities were planned. During Homecoming, some old traditions were brought back such as the bonfire and the snake dance. Something new was an old-fashioned scavenger hunt where students looked for objects that symbolized a teacher. Still others were kept alive like the Powder Puff game as shown in Pic. I. In Pic. 2. Sheila Wilson. Becky Denney, Dana Cooley, and Janet Nelsen are caught taking a break from some of their work during Homecoming week. Majorette Sandy Jessen leads the Flag Corps and Marching band during the Homecoming parade in Pic. Mrs. Olsen is shown giving a pep talk to the cast of Oklahoma! in Pic. 4.
