A.H.S. Enjoys Two Winter Dances The FFA-FHA Sweetheart Ball was held on Saturday, Feb- ruary 17. The band, Impulse, provided the music. The queen candidates — FFA and FHA senior members — were escorted onto the floor by FFA members and were given a single rose. Keri Harris was crowned as the 1979 Sweetheart Queen. PIC 1. NFL - The Voices Of AHS The National Forensic League again proved to be one of the more active groups at AHS. The annual popcorn pick-up in the fall started the season. The NFL uses this for concessions at home basketball games and tournament games. On Feb. 24, AHS hosted 564 students at the District Speech Con- test. Two weeks later, Anita hosted 18 schools and 350 students at the 12th Walnut Hill Classic. NFL also presented as a money-making project, the movie ' 'The Silent Witness'' through the courtesy of former members Craig Hol- land and Tom Knowlton. The speech season ended with their banquet at the Redwood with the underclassmen roasting the Class of '79. PIC. 1.
