Friday Night at the Movies made Homecoming 73 a memorable oc- casion for all of us. As it recalled to us past trimphs and inspired us to future success, it found its way into all of our hearts. The Homecoming festivities officially began Thursday night as the cheerleaders led the annual snake dance and bonfire pep rally. Friday afternoon, Queen Debbie Weber and King Gary Harris were crowned by the '63 King and Queen, Herman Claussen and Nancy Me Luen Gustaf- son, in a shimmering coronation dedicated to Mr. John Burke, Anita High School teacher. Afterwards, a parade which proudly displayed our new King and Queen and their attendants, Kirk Kelloway, Carol Holaday, Doug Karns, and Beth Lane, wound its way through town to a pep rally in the city park. The caravan also featured floats built by the classes, the AHS March- ing Spartans, and a novelty, the B-F fire department. The climax, of course, was Friday night's game as the Spartans rolled over B-F, 26-8. The float judging results were also announced then, as the Seniors placed first, Sophomore second. Juniors third, and Freshmen last. A new tradition was set as the Homecoming dance was held on Saturday night in the Anita High Auditorium. The student body danced to the music of Burnt Shoe, as Homecoming slipped away to another year.
