He attended Northern State College to earn both his B.S. and M. S. degrees. Mr. Donald Brichacek, our superintendent, has been at Anita High School for three years. In addition to his duties as superintendent, he sponsors the Merit's Who's Who Among Ameri- can High School Students. He attended Uni- versity of Nebraska to earn his B.S., M.S., and Specialist in Administration degrees. He feels that education is the foundation upon which our country will continue to grow. Mrs. Jean Gill, secretary to Mr. Brichacek and the Board of Education, is responsible for keeping all per- sonnel and financial records at AHS. Mrs. Dorothy Power, secretary to Mr. Premus, has many various duties. She types, files, punches lunch tickets and still finds time to drive students to and from school. PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENES The Board of Education consists of five regular board members elected for a three year term. These people represent our entire school district-at-large. Their chief functions are to select personnel, set school policies and approve a yearly school budget. These elected officials are unpaid lay educators donating their time and efforts for the improvement of education in the Anita Community Schools. BOARD OF EDUCATION: Ranny Kelloway, president; Gene Andrews, Bernald Richter, Dick Richter, and Bruce Brown. 6
