Speech Builds Confidence as Students Once again declamation was a major activity at AHS with 48 members. Because of the large number of students participating the group was divided into two sections; coaches were Mr. John Burke and Mr. John Jacobs. Our students participate in: home speech contest, district, and state. Many students are called upon to give their speeches for organizations in the area. Our orators brought home first place in the initial Little Eight Activities Conference Speech Contest. Mary Kennedy gives her poetry reading at Ani- ta’s Home Speech Contest.
