Class Hlstory One sunny September morning in 1942. twenty two bright shiny eyed children started their long Journey of educatlon to the final goalof one starry nxght in May 1956 Those twenty two children now typical teenagers were Margaret Arnett Mary .To Grinstead Sharon Hazard Janet .Tewett Rosemary Pearson Janet Purdue Dixie Shoemaker Beth Slsler Karen Turner Wanda Wllson Dale Dorsey Keith Henderson Porter Huddleson Robert Kelley Dick Legg Ray McAfee Robert Ne ins Robert Petersen Gary Smither Cecil Denny Wayne Norburg and Gene Karstens Mlss Dorothy Richtor was our kindergarten and first grade teacher We had a sand pile right in our room and we painted on the easels and made green snakes out of clay In first grade we gained Roger Littell Raymond and Ramona Workman and we lost Janet Purdue Sharon Hazard and Robert Neins Miss Merrick was our second grade teacher Everyone of us was in the grocery store business that year In second grade we galned Jackie Harris Richard Logan and garol Jeanne Herrick Miss Knowlton taught us how to multilpy numbers and tell tlme in third and fourth grade Remember the P T A programs we put on when we did the mmuet The boys in wigs and girls ln ball room dresses In third grade we lost Richard Logan and in fourth grade gained Marna Larsen We took a trip to Atlantic in fifth grade Mrs Merle Glll was our teacher Remember our excursion to the post office News Telegraph and we even got free cokes at the Coca Cola Company Sharon Orcutt Joined our grade and we lost Ray McAfee and Jackie Harris Bowen coached Junior high basketball and both the girls and boys won trophies in the tournaments Marvin Fries and Prince Plgsley Joined our class Mr Jones and Mrs Salmon were our Junior High teachers Mr Jones continued coach1ng us in basketball and we were very proud of our records We've got Mrs Salmon to thank for gettlng us past our eighth grade test and ready to enter An1ta High School Norma Mlller Joined us in seventh grade and Prince P1gs1ey, Roger Littell, and Margaret Arnett moved Then during e1ghth grade Margaret Arnett came back and we also gained Jlm Larsen, Leland Nelson, and Dean Osen When our class entered hzgh school, we were very proud of the fact that we had the largest class in An1ta's history The boys out numbered the glrls Just about two to one, and they st1ll do The country k1ds Joining us were Eleanor Beaman, Melvyn Dorsey, Larry Eden, Sandra Griffen, Dwayne Harmsen, Jackie Harr1s, Jorene Hughes, Naomi Jensen, Daryl Kline, Arlyn Lund Tom and Joe Marnln, Ray McAfee, Sherry Parklnson Ga1l Shannon, Roger Steele, Bob Wedemeyer, Art Wheelock Ga11yn Jesson, and Ray Va1s Jerry and Bob Budd also Joined us from Califorma Then when we were sophomores, Colleen Whetstone Joined us and we lost D1x1e Shoemaker Beth Slsler, and Ray Workman Remember d1sect1ng frogs? Ugh' The boys ended up doing most of the work, right boys? We Jumors were now nearing the day wherf we would graduate Remember the day we rece1ved our class r1ngs'? There were bets on as to who would lose his first Eleanor Beaman, Ramona Workman, Sandy Gnffin, and Bob Budd left us Mary Jane Madden and Ray Workman Joined us Well, the 1955 school year rolled around As 37 semors started to school we knew we had just about made it Marna Larsen .Tack Harris Margaret Arnett left us Mrs McDermott was our home room teacher for our sophomore Junior and senior year too We realize now in 1956 that we will soon be out on our own Many of us will be going to colleges and schools Some of the boys will Join Uncle Sam probably Maybe some day we can all get together again but it has been fun with all the work don t you think so 'P O . . , - . . - . .
