CLASS PROPHECY It was a very hot day in June, 1976, as Hugh Peterson drove up into Edmond Davis' driveway. Edmond Davis is the owner of the Davis' Truckline in Lordsburg. This certain day Edmond was having a party, and since Hugh came for avisit, Edmond insisted on having Hugh stay. As they walked in, Hugh noticed agroup of ladies sitting on the sofa talking. There's that professional singer who sings on the Louisiana I-Iayride, whispered Nettie Gomez. Nettie G. , a society reporter, was covering the party for her home town newspaper. Isn't he wonderful? beamed Alice Gomez, mother of a large family. Hello ladies, smiled Hugh. Well, I see you haven 't lost the Fisherace touch, laughed Clyde Yarbrough, who is a pro- fessional basketball player for the globetrotters. Just then master of ceremonies, Don Kerr, president of a Dude Ranch in Texas, spoke. After welcoming all, he introduced Martha Nell DeVilbiss, a secretary in Lordsburg at Davis' Truckline Service.Martha's assignment, not nearly so difficult as some of her assignments in High School, was to locate information on classmates who were not at the party. Martha rises and begins to speak ...... Latha Caillouette is a foreman at the Diamond A in Animas. Billy Veck, who is happily married, has a Chicken farm in Oklahoma. Erwin Underwood, is an engineer and is building a road through the Jungle in South Africa. Juan Molina is an Admiral in the Navy, he has planned to make it a career. Shirley Moeller, has become a famous writer. Her latest book The Phychology of Catching aRich Husband ,has lent priceless aid to lonely hearters. Well, that's it, said Don. But now I want to introduce Mr. Lines who usedto be aprincipal at Animas High School in 1957. He has now retired and is living in Virden. Iust as Mr. Lines was finishing the speech he was giving, Martha Nell called fromthe kitchen, Chow 's on, Every- body sit down. This was a reunion of the CLASS OF '58
