aaa 32 l 0l0 QC? f , ' it. I I, Ahmed, mighty Swami of the Ancient East, consult my crystal ball, and your fu- tures unfold before me. I see all and know all, and the fates decree that these things shall come to pass, so heed the words of those who direct our destinies. The mists of time disintegrate and the vision of a fashionable book shop unfolds before me. And prominently displayed on the counters are the best-selling works of Miss Gertrude Wiley, the Nobel Prize winner for the best novel written in 1970. We knew you could do it, Gertrude! The scene changes and I see a huge lot filled with grunting, squealing swine. From the distance comes the sonorous call of so-o-o-ey, so-o-o-ey, and C. L. Hoskins, the World's Champion Hog Caller, comes into view. The old horn still can toot, can't it, C. L.? Another well-known figure approaches--one capped and gowned in white with hands clean-scrubbed and worn in the service of others. Ah! it is Nicki Dominguez, head of the School of Nursing at Mercy Hospital in Los Angeles. She turns her head and greets another personage who steps through the mist with babe on arm. It is Alice Gomez Somoza who has just borne her thirteenth child. Her husband, Victor, her chil- dren, and her home are now her full-time career. Again the scene changes. I see a crew of working men in prison garb, breaking rocks for a new highway. An armed turnkey is supervising their labor, and who could it be but junior Gomez, guard at Leavenworth Federal Prison. It's nice to see sledge hammers and shovels in the hands of others, isn't it, Junior? A car drives into view and out steps the warden, J. Weldon Smith, who has given up trying to control Carol Dunagan and has found more success in handling jailbirds. The mists are thinning, the picture becomes clearer. I see a train, from the rear platform of which a lady orator is speaking to a group of people in spite of the driving rain. It is Miss Carol Dunagan, l972's Republican candidate for the Presidency of the United States. She is vigorously attacking the reputation and political policy of her Democratic rival, Miss Margaret West, whose oratorical skill on the floor of Congress has never been surpassed. I Again the haze lifts, and I see a small building from whence comes the sound of voices lifted in songs of praise. A closer look reveals Brother Lawrence Durffee, a cir- cuit-riding evangelist, who is loudly exhorting his congregation to repentance. Better than selling advertising for the yearbook, isn't it, Lawrence? In this same congregation I see David Dunagan, the local undertaker and President of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to juvenile Delinquentsg and Mr. W. H. Adams, a buyer for the Diamond Fertilizer and Glue Works, Inc. Although their pro- fessions are widely divergent, they are the best of friends, and the Saturday-night Pinocle sessions in Ballard's store cause no end of anxiety for their respective wives. The mists descend and cloud the glass. The spirits have retired and will no longer speak. So ends the vision of the Senior Class of 1955. ' -4-

.Iaaf W an .llafamenf vf mf 7 We, the class of 1955, being of sound mind and body Cin spite of four years' exposure to education at Animas High Schoolb do hereby establish this instrument as our last will and testament, to wit: I, W. H, Adams, bequeath my ability to get into all kinds of mischief to james Moorhead. May he have better luck at not getting caught than I had. I, Nicki Dominguez, leave my old address book to Toni Somoza. There's a lot of useful information in it, Kid! I, Carol Dunagan, leave my executive ability and ex-boyfriends to any- one who will have them. I, Lawrence Durffee, leave my smooching ability to Victor Somoza. With Alice, he can use it. I, Alice Gomez, leave Victor's other girl friends to Larry Durffee and Ralph Dominguez. He won't need them any more, will you, Victor? I, C. L. Hoskins, leave my towering physique to Joe Dominguez. Might sta. 5 things girowing, Pal! F, xl. Wfel on Smith, bequeath my basketball shoes to Andy Peterson and any three framen who can wear them. I, Margaret West, will my quiet ways and lady-like demeanor to Audrey Goodwin. I, David Dunagan, don't leave anything to anybody, for what I haven't got, I can't leave to anyone, and what I have, no one wants. I, Junior Gomez, leave my first six weeks' government grade to Alfred johnson. You'll hate me for life, Boy! I, Don Burton, bequeath my last year's license plates to Victor Somoza. You can put them on Aliceis charm bracelet. I, Gertrude Wiley, will the editorship of the Yucca and my club for beating up tardy reporters to Shirley Barker. Signed, sealed, and delivered this 24th day of May in the Year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-five. WITNESSETH: Wayne Smith and Lewis Dayton. -6-
