Career strategist Dr. Adele M. Scheele visited ASU during Home- coming Week and said getting over fear is the most significant thing that can happen to a person. Dr. Scheele spoke to an audience of about 75 people in the UC Ballroom. The lecture was sponsored by the UCPC Speakers Committee and was called Life After College tMaking College Paylf' The people who are afraid are stopped by their fears, Scheele said, adding that it is important not to be afraid to meet people. She said people are either sustain- ers or achievers. Sustainers do their jobs well but quietly, doing what they're told and nothing more. Achievers take stock of their abili- ties, are resourceful and self-motivat- ing. Scheele said a good way to take ad- vantage of college is to get to know faculty and administrators and to take part in university clubs and ac- tivities. - Jim Albright, Jr. The Maria Benitez Spanish Dance Company performed in the University Auditorium on Wednesday night of Homecoming Week and was sponsored by the UCPC Arts Committee. tArt Hanson Photo!ASU News Sr Informa- tion? Benge achieves top honor The crowning of the Homecoming Queen was one of the few traditions that remained unchanged during Homecoming 1984. The Homecoming Queen elections were conducted differently, without the usual clutter of campaign posters and flyers. Organizations paid a S10 entry fee for their queen nominee. The ASU Student Assembly was responsible for each candidates pub- licity. ASUSA President Tim Weath- erby said voter turnout was much greater this year because of the changes made in the election process. Five duchesses were chosen from 30 candidates.
