construction . . . In February of 1958, San Angelo College trustees announced a loan agreement with the federal govem- ment for 31,165,000 to be used for campus improve- ments and expansions. The money is being used for the construction of a new womenls dormitory, a new student union building and cafeteria, faculty apartments and student family apartments. Carr Hall will be converted into a men's dormitory as will the present cafeteria. All new build- ings will be completely air-conditioned. The construction project will almost double the campus in size. The project is scheduled to be com- pleted by September of 1959. Porter Henderson, president of San Angelo College Board of Trustees, assists in groundbreaking ceremonies held August ll, 1958. The ceremony marked the beginning of the building program on the SAC campus.
