PBESIDENT'S MESSAGE San Angelo College had its Zlst birthday in September, 1949. From the time that its doors were opened in 1928 to a group of 112 students until the pres- ent day, SAC has enjoyed a vigorous existence and a steady gro-wth. The devotion of its staff to high standards of achievement brought the College full recognition and an enviable reputation early in its life. By 1945 the fact had become obvious that in order to meet the challenge of service to a lusty, flourishing section of the Lone Star State, San Angelo Col- lege needed more room and greater freedom of operation than it had. The Iunior College District was reorganized on a county-wide basis and the job of providing a home for the new educational entity was undertaken with very successful results. 4
