Under the direction of Professor Robert L. Noel, there are usually about thirty engineering students. A move to the basement of the Campus Health Center has provided an engineering drawing room and laboratory area, greatly improving the quality of the work of the de- partment. Recent projects have included the adaptation of equipment for ele- vated-temperature testing and the determination of the transformation temperature of steels at various cool- ing rates.
