Ten professors and twenty-two secondary and elementary assistants in teacher education plant within prospective teachers the inspiration for challenging young minds. The departmenfs tirst responsibility is the education of teachers for Seventh-day Adventist schools. To in- crease the efficiency and effectiveness of teacher educa- tion, curriculums are being reorganized, and a curricu- lunt room is being developed in the James White Library. About four thousand books in education were added to the library last year: the staff of teachers of education has been increased each of the past sev- eral years. r The Teacher Education Council formed a year ago, is a continuing body to constantly survey teacher education and recommend needed improvements and developments.
