Black Gold made its debut in Andrews County twenty-one years ago, when the first oil well was brought in, Since that first well in 7929, every year has seen rising figures on wells and production. Today in the county there are more than 6,000 producing wells, located in 775 different pools. Although many of the wells that have been drilled turned out to be dry holes, the ones that came in have made Andrews County the leading oil-producing county in the world. ANDREWS
